Tuacahn Duathlon

Two weeks ago, Chad and I went down to St. George for the Tuacahn Duathlon. Chad is signed up for his first Triathlon in May. Participating in the duathlon was a great opportunity to get some experience. Here he is setting up his transition area.

This is Chad coming in from his first run segment, to the transition area.

There he goes on his bike.

Finishing the bike segment.
The race began at the Tuacahn ampitheater.
Unfortunately, at the end of every segment
he had an uphill climb back into the parking lot.

Running segment number 2.

All done, time posted, medal in hand.

What a great experience.!
It was cold, but nice to be outside.
I had two fleeces on to stay warm! The weather was perfect for Chad.
The red rock was gorgeous!
We didn't get any rain until the afternoon when the race was over.
Chad's goal was to finish the race and to gain experience. He was pretty thrilled to find out that he came in 4th in his age group. I loved being with him and supporting him. Maybe next year we will participate in the duathlon together.
