One of the upsides of being worn out and to tired to do much is that I find myself spending more quality time with my children (rather than doing laundry or cleaning, etc.). On Friday afternoon I was blessed to have one-on-one time with each of my girls.
When Maren came home from school, we sat in the front room quietly talking while the other girls slept. She decided to do my hair. After trying out many options, she decided on a pony tail with a ribbon headband. I loved talking to her about her day and her thoughts as she played with my hair.
When Caroline woke up, we spent time together reading. I love having her read to me. She is becoming such a good little reader. I love having her sit, snuggled up to me while we take turns reading to each other.
Later, when Maren was at a friend's house and Caroline had a friend over...it was Avery's turn for Mom time. She was dressed up and selected some music to dance to. She picked the Book of Mormon Movie Sound Track. The look that you see on her face is her attempt to look serious as she twirled because she felt like the music was serious. We went through many CD's and many expressions and forms of dance. My job was to watch and cheer her on.
I love my girls.
