This last weekend I had the opportunity to visit my best friend from high school, Lisa and her husband John in Tacoma. The last time I was able to go visit Lisa was 10 years ago, and she was living in Boston then! Here we are at the beach. Cold, but beautiful.

I don't think I could ever get sick of the water.

We went to the international district in Seattle one day for dim sum. I wish I had taken a picture. This was my first dim sum experience, and it was so yummy. I loved the baby bok choy, but I passed on the tripe and chicken's feet! Afterwards we went to a "bubble tea" house down the street. I ordered shaved ice, expecting a snow cone. This delight is what I received!

We drove through a beautiful park area. They had a rose garden, but I was more enthralled with the dahlia's. These are all different varieties of dahlias.

I loved the museum of glass. This is the display outside. For obvious reasons, they ask that you do not throw change into the reflecting pool. Inside they had a "hot shop" where the artist in residence is working creating his art and telling you all about it. I could have spent the whole weekend there.

The Tacoma area was holding harvest days at all of their local pumpkin patches and organic farms. Lisa receives deliveries of produce every week from this farm.

We picked up some fresh produce while we were there. Lisa send purple carrots home with me. They are orange on the inside. My kids have dubbed them "Halloween carrots". We also went to a Greek festival, drove up to Cape Angeles and hit a late movie. All in all a very fun weekend! Thanks Chad for sending me and thanks Lisa for playing with me all weekend!
