Capitol Reef Camping Trip

We went on a great camping trip the last weekend before school started.
We had so much fun! Here are the kids climbing in The Grand Wash.
A camping bath!

I wish I had taken a picture of Tom Davis's shower tent. It was awesome!
It was nice for each of the adults to get a shower during the trip.

Jan and Maren hiking at the beginning of Calf Creek.

Caroline and I were hiking buddies on this entire trip. I had a profound experience hiking back up out of the canyon at the end of this hike. Caroline was so hot and tired that she didn't think that she could go on. I was touched by Lee and Tom as they took turns carrying her for short distances to give her a little break. When we were all so tired and hot that we were all pretty much worn out, she broke down into tears and told me that she couldn't go on. I hugged her and consoled her for awhile. I took her hand. She still wasn't sure about continuing. Tom reached down and told her that he would take her other hand. That was the support she needed. We all made it.
This water was freezing cold. I only put my toes in,
but all of these boys were diving in.

The shallow water was a little bit warmer. I am sad that our camera ran out of batteries before we reached the upper pool where everyoe was jumping from a 15? foot drop.

Maren, Hallie, Caroline and Avery hanging out in the hammock at camp.

The adults hanging out too.

Apple picking at the local orchard. The apples were so yummy!

Avery liked the apples too.

This is part of the National Park. Isn't it beautiful?

Watching the sunset at the Panoramic lookout.

All in all a fantastic trip. Thanks Chamberlains for the invite.
